Hartman Seatrade has taken an important next step in the expansion and future development of its fleet with the signing of a newbuilding order for the Hartman Class 500. The vessel will be built by Rock Shipbuilding and is designed to set a new standard in heavy lift shipping through a strong focus on performance, efficiency and sustainability.
The Hartman Class 500 will feature a 500 ton lifting capacity and a deadweight of 4,600 mt, making it highly suitable for a wide range of heavy cargo operations. With a top speed of 19.5 knots, the vessel combines operational strength with high efficiency at sea.
A key element of the new vessel is the integration of the Wärtsilä 31 engine, recognised as the world’s most efficient four stroke engine. In addition, the vessel will be capable of zero emission sailing at speeds up to 11 knots through battery electric propulsion.
Sustainability has also been prioritised during port operations. Thanks to a full shore power connection, the Hartman Class 500 will be able to perform completely emission free port and crane operations.
With this investment, Hartman Seatrade continues to strengthen and future proof its fleet while supporting the transition towards more sustainable shipping solutions.
