We maintain an unwavering commitment to achieving a zero incident/accident working environment. Through our robust safety management system, we exceed industry standards and consistently strive for excellence. Our integrated safety practices, aligned with the International Safety Management Code, not only meet but surpass our clients’ expectations. Lessons learned are effectively communicated through our company internal circulaire, fostering a culture of awareness and continuous improvement. Our vessels proudly bear the Netherlands quality flag and adhere to the stringent requirements of renowned classification societies. From vessel design to maintenance and crew training, we maintain the highest standards across all aspects of our operations.

Environmental Responsibility: Preserving Our Planet

We embrace our responsibility to protect the environment and minimize our ecological footprint. Operating globally, including in Emission Control Areas and environmentally sensitive regions, we strictly adhere to all applicable legislation. Our commitment to environmental stewardship includes limiting emissions of SOx, NOx, soot (fine particles), and CO2. We prioritize the proper management of waste, ballast water, and cleaning processes, following stringent waste management plans. By adhering to international standards such as, ISPS Code, and the Maritime Labour Convention, both our company and ships are certified for their adherence to comprehensive environmental practices.

Safety First: Zero Incidents, Zero Compromises

At Hartman Seatrade, we maintain an unwavering focus on achieving a zero incident/accident working environment. We proactively identify and manage risks through continuous analysis and monitoring. Our dedicated QHSSE Department ensures that all vessels remain compliant with the latest Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental regulations. By fostering a culture of safety and environmental awareness, we empower our crew through information and instruction. We go beyond regulatory requirements by providing additional training and certification through purpose-built cargo crane simulators. Our commitment to safety extends to our office staff, who undergo specialized training to understand the risk factors associated with all our ship operations.

Environment: Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

We are committed to minimizing fuel consumption and reducing air emissions, including sulphur, nitrogen, and CO2. Our Technical Department continuously explores innovative solutions to optimize vessel propulsion systems and promote economic sailing. We promote behavioral changes and employ technical measures to reduce electricity and fuel consumption onboard. Our newly constructed ships are equipped with highly efficient engines, advanced energy-efficient rudders, and modern hull coatings to minimize resistance. We prioritize trim and speed optimization, utilizing weather routing systems to track and avoid unfavorable conditions during voyages.

Driving Efficiency through Technology and Data

Hartman Seatrade has developed an in-house, sensor-based fleet performance platform to measure, analyze, and improve our ships’ efficiency. We equip our entire fleet with fuel consumption measuring equipment and data loggers, enabling us to monitor and enhance performance. Onboard fuel monitoring dashboards empower our crew to navigate as fuel efficiently as possible, reducing our carbon footprint. We continuously strive to reduce emissions to water, with initiatives such as ultra low friction silicion foul release coating, wastewater treatment and the use of biodegradable lubricants.
